Yastremska’s Beijing win over Chwalinska showed how well her serve can set up the first strike. Against Kraus, it vanished: five games won, errors rising, and breaks immediately surrendered. After four straight losses before Beijing, one fluent match is not yet a reset.

Bucsa’s four-match losing run needs context. Jovic and Noskova were strong opposition; she arrived in Shenzhen barely trained after Guadalajara, and Sun beat her 6-4, 7-5 with late shot-making. Bucsa had reached the Guadalajara semifinal, won the doubles title and shown at the US Open she could grind through long matches.

Her pace changes, drop shots and low volleys can unsettle Yastremska’s rhythm. The 2-0 head-to-head favours Yastremska, but the February Doha meeting ended 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(5)—a one-game margin. Bucsa +1.5 games is preferable to backing her outright when closing remains a concern; the price looks generous if the market is treating Yastremska’s Beijing peak as her new level.

The games total offers no clear edge: Yastremska’s matches can turn lopsided, while Bucsa’s often stay tight. The risk is Bucsa failing to convert chances while Yastremska sustains her best attacking tennis.
